Pop-Up Pink

Well, it looks like we're bidding adieu to 2014, and I'm really hoping 2015 brings more laughter, memories, and life changing experiences. 2014 was pretty good to me. (giving a side-eye at 2013, though). I really need to hammer down some solid resolutions, but I want to try worrying less in the new year, and take chances. Drake said it best- you only live once. Sometimes I forget that I'm a young & able woman. I need to live in the moment and stop stressing so much. If I can accomplish that feat, then there's no doubt that 2015 will be my best year yet. What are your resolutions? How about favorite memories of 2014?

The Black & Tan

Alright folks! This blog post was such a treat to shoot... it was "Guest Shot" by one of my best friends, Ali! (Twitter: @AWolfTV). She is a video journalist and has great photography skills, so one day before lunch she took a few snaps of the outfit I was wearing.

As you can see, I'm still obsessed with these Louise Et Cie boots. I found a poncho from H&M on Santana Row that matched it perfectly!! A lot of miscellaneous clothing items I've been lusting for online were nowhere to be seen in my local mall. After a trip down to the South Bay, I found everything that was on my wishlist! Looking forward to sharing those looks with you in upcoming posts :)

Nuanced Neutrals

Hope you all had the best Christmas ever!!! Now that the holiday is over, I'm hesitant to let go of all the festive looks I rock during the months of November/December. If you don't mind, I will be carrying some of that style into the New Year! It's still winter, afterall :)

Taking advantage of the (mostly) dry weather we've been having this week. That means I get to swap out the boots for some heels! It started to sprinkle just a bit as I shot these pics, but the ground was dry enough, so the Rockstuds came out to play.

Lady In Red

Merry Christmas, everyone!!!! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday filled with laughter, love, and good eats.

I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for checking out my blog. I love reading the comments, and I'm sure some of you drop by to see a more personal side to your morning meteorologist.

My present to you all today (atleast in the Bay Area) is good weather! It's going to be a little chilly with temps in the high 50s - low 60s, but no rain in today's forecast, but we're gifted with tons of sunshine!

Please continue following my blog into the new year! I have sooo much lined up, and I can't wait to share it with you all! More outfits, maybe a little make-up, and a complete overhaul of my blog's interface! I hope you guys are excited as I am!

Shop red coats similar to mine below. I love red, isn't it the best festive color ever?

And now I'm off to grandma's house!

Fur Baby

Hey, lovelies!! So Christmas is FAST approaching, and yes, I'm still looking for a few last minute gifts. Don't get me wrong, I did get gifts for everyone on my list... but there's always room for more :) I just love giving, and finding the PERFECT accessory or tool for a loved one.

Check out this statement coat that I picked up on a recent trip to the mall. I tried it on out of the sheer ridiculousness of a leopard faux fur knee-length coat. And then I fell in love. When I was about 6 years old, the top present I wanted was a "leopard print fur coat" from Santa, and I got something similar, but it wasn't THE coat. Well, my friends. This was pretty darn close. So I consider this a gift to 6-year-old Erica from 26-year-old Erica. Ridiculous.

Anyway, the coat is now 30% off, but act fast!!!! It's hard to find in stores.

Annnd It's Winter...

It seems like every season, I get obsessed with one specific article of clothing, and I become a collector of sorts. This season, I'm collecting scarves. I basically have a closet full of them, and pairing them with different outfits breathes new life into my wardrobe.

Not sure if you all have noticed, but for the most part, it hasn't been as cold here in the Bay Area. Remember during this time last year, we were dealing with a cold snap that brought temperatures down into the teens overnight. This December, we are well above average in rainfall totals, but temperatures have basically stayed in the 50s. Still... I'm cold!

This particular scarf is pretty warm, and I do like the mix-print. I will say it's a pretty odd length, and I've had trouble wrapping it around me (unlike those Zara blanket scarves I'm obsessed with). I'm glad I have it in my collection, I just need to take the time to figure out how to wrap/fold this scarf to showcase it best. It might make the perfect gift for someone on your list... Are you done with your holiday shopping?

Stripes In The Showers

This rain just won't quit!!!! I shot blog posts several times over the past week during downpours. Fortunately, we are looking at dry weather during the holiday week. While I'm grateful for all the rain we've been getting (the state certainly needs it), my neighborhood tends to flood, and driving gets pretty intense. I love nothing more, however, than sitting by a window INSIDE and drinking hot cocoa and listening to the rain drops :)

So I unofficially decided that white is a color you can wear in the rain. This outfit certainly turned a lot of heads-- I'm sure folks thinking, "Is she wearing white pants in the middle of this storm?". Why, yes I am.

As long as its not too windy, an outfit like this should hold up fairly well during a Bay Area downpour. My turtleneck was $8 (can you believe it?!), and it's made out of a super soft jersey material. My boots are no longer sold, but I linked to a similar pair @ Nordstrom, and they are price matching!

Also, I'm feeling festive, and will be posting outfits every day, ALL WEEK! So please, come back, check out my blog, and subscribe. I will definitely check out your blog as well if you leave me a link in the comments section.

Almost All Black Everything

Another post featuring gorgeous Oakland! Yes, I could go look out over the Golden Gate Bridge, or do a typical shoot along the Embarcadero (which is probably inevitable), but I've been spending a lot of time in the 5-1-0 and am showcasing some of the town's best scenery.

The sun was setting, the temperatures were dropping, and I was perfectly bundled for a stroll along the waterfront. Just because it's wintertime, doesn't mean we're restricted to pants. I've discovered something called fleece lined tights (life-changing, trust). I've also found myself wearing a lot of black lately, and I've mixed some of my favorite pieces together with this ensemble.

Happy Winter Solstice, everyone!!!!!

These Boots, Though

We're getting closer & closer to Christmas!!! During the holidays, I'm out & about more than any other time of year. This year is no exception. I love seeing how the streets are decorated and buzzing with cheerful residents. My trip to Jack London Square in Oakland this week was truly nostalgic. I grew up going to the movie theatre there with my granny, and we used to eat at what, at the time, was Uno Pizzeria.

A lot has changed. There's been a bunch of business turnover, and frankly, even during the weekend, the streets are empty. This part of town has so much potential, I'd really like to see it thrive again. I kept it casual with a buffalo plaid flannel, black pants, and these KILLER Louise Et Cie boots. I am simply obsessed with how these boots instantly transform even the most basic outfits. Well worth the money and a perfect gift for any of you ladies out there!! Nordstrom currently has them on SALE for 40% off! Link below.

The Perfect Pair

Well, I think its safe to say the storm door is wide open! Crazy weather we've been having in the Bay. I took the opportunity during a dry break to shoot in these new Louise et Cie boots I ordered! Comfortable to walk in, driving... not so much. I've been living in chunky sweaters and excursion vests these past few weeks so my apologies if you see a wee bit of repetition in types of outfits I'm featuring as of late!

Holiday Casual

Hello lovelies! I really hope you enjoyed your holiday, the sales, and the rain!  Also hope you had the chance to check out my holiday gift guides for all of your loved ones. There are some nifty suggestions on here perfect for anyone on your list-- and most of the items are on SALE!

Sometimes, you meet up with friends you haven't seen for awhile or even co-workers in an informal setting, and these are the hardest occasions to dress for. My outfit here meets half-way. I incorporated a flannel that I'd wear lounging at home, or running errands with a structured pleated A-line skirt. Voila! You tried with your look, but not too hard.

Neon Pink & Navy

The weather is definitely cooling down, so I'm happy to show off my expansive coat collection. I've been collecting coats (very affordable!) for years because they carry over from season to season. They are all timeless pieces, and many of them are from college!

This is one of the newest additions to my coat collection. It is a simple, structured, navy peacoat. I can't believe I didn't get one sooner! It's on sale at Old Navy right now, so check it out... many colors available. Because I consider navy a neutral color, and it can be dull at times, I added a pop of pink to really make this look stand out!

Holidate 2014

The holidays are the perfect time to set aside a day or two to spend with your "bae". With all the decorations, the performances, and skating rinks, you will find something to keep you entertained and feeling festive with the one you love. Every year, I try to plan a Holidate which may include seeing the Nutcracker, Cirque du Soleil, or see a holiday play followed by dinner at one of the nicer restaurants with a breathtaking view somewhere in the city (or Bay Area...). I go all out, and no detail goes unnoticed when it comes to what I wear for Holidate. Here are a few looks I have created in the past. These also work for the many holiday parties I'm sure you're planning on attending. These get-togethers are a time where you can really knock 'em out of the park with a look-at-me dress, rich colors, and sparkling accessories. This is also the best time of year to wear sequins and not feel weird about it. I'm definitely going to be rocking some gold sequin pants before the month is done!
