All Falls Down

Hey all! I truly can't believe that Halloween is almost here. It's quickly become one of my favorite holidays! I swear, nothing gets me more excited than scary movies (or shows like The Walking Dead), a good haunted house, candy, and costumes! I've been so busy this October, so I haven't really had the opportunity to partake in all these activities. Maybe I'll go to one of the haunted mazes around the Bay this weekend. I did, however, catch up on some spooky movies, and my candy bowl is full.

P.S. I picked up some Hunter boots at Costco! Only $79 and they had red, black, and green. Hurry! Going fast in stores, but you can still order online. Nordstrom is also price-matching. You may also want to check your local Nordstrom Rack, too. I saw tall Hunters for $85 there, and they even were selling the cute Hunter boots socks!

Grey Days Ahead...

These are all casual pieces put together to make it appear as if some effort was put into cold weather style! Leggings, sweater, scarf, boots...check, check, and check! I've been looking for new ways to wear these grey OTK boots. I purchased them two winters ago, but unfortunately, they haven't seen much use! Camel/brown and black boots are just a lot easier to style. If you have any suggestions/tips, definitely let me know in the comments!

Rainbow Without the Rain

Good morning! Today, we're anticipating the first serious storm of the season. The San Francisco Bay Area could be hit with an inch of rain-- pretty impressive for October. I wanted to share a look from over the weekend... the weather was fairly sunny and mild. I am obsessed with this rainbow sweater and HAD to wear it one more time before the weather drastically changes! I might also pull the trigger and buy some Hunter rainboots for the upcoming El Nino season. Tons of rain + suede/leather boots = a horrible combination. I'm hoping for a tight fit around the calves.

Back in Black (and White!)

Hey loves! So as you've probably observed, I wear a lot of plaid. Flannel shirts (both fitted and boxy) are so comfortable, and you can usually find me with a vest over one. I jumped at the chance to wear a dress version paired with these tried and true boots. Speaking of which- I bought these boots about 4 years ago, and they've survived through a LOT. They were purchased on, but as many of you know, they stopped selling clothes/shoes. It's a real shame, since these were probably my favorite boots of all time, and I'm always on the lookout for a back-up pair!

Scarf Love

Slowly but surely, I am getting the opportunity to wear more of my chunky sweaters and boots. It's still been mainly 60s/70s around the Bay, but the early mornings and nights are cool. Today was the first time this season I had the opportunity to wear these boots- a favorite from last year- and this scarf! Shop the look below...

Seattle's Best #FFTravels

I am so excited to share this post with you all! I recently visited Seattle with my old college roommates, and I fell in love! It's probably my favorite city (to visit), and if I wasn't such a Bay Area girl, I would move up there in a heartbeat. It's much like SF... but traffic isn't as bad, the restaurants are equally delicious but not as packed, and I really do enjoy cloudy/rainy weather. Seattle is right up my alley.

We browsed the Pike Place market, went to Beecher's, took in views from the Space Needle, and dined at Din Tai Fung. It was a whirlwind weekend, and I 100% cannot wait to go back.

Cozy Up

Though the sun has been shining, some days have been a little brisk. The air is crisp, and the nights are cool. This dress has taken me from work to errands- and the scarf comes on and off depending on the temperature. Tights and boots will make it an even better outfit come November/December!

Suave in Suede

Hands down, this is my favorite outfit thus far of the season. I've been waiting for an opportunity to break these boots in from last year, and I am in LOVE with this suede skirt. The black/brown combo scream Fall, and believe it or not, this outfit was super comfy as I was out and about. It also looks a little 70s, which is really on trend this season. Are you digging the groovy looks seen on other bloggers and on runways? Let me know in the comments.

Vested Interest

I'm loving green lately, maybe I'm being inspired by the leaves around me... but really, I can't get enough. Last year, I went absolutely bananas for these quilted vests from Old Navy. I bought all colors except the army green one (it was sold out!). This year, I jumped at the opportunity to add this to my wardrobe. I find them slimming and a perfect addition to any winter outfit. Plus, they are about 60% cheaper than the J. Crew alternatives.

Lust List: Ponchos

What is better than wearing a blanket out in public and that concept being deemed fashionable? NOTHING. I am all for the poncho trend because it keeps me warm and it's a way to jazz up the uniform of jeans, sweater, and boots. I've rounded up some that I definitely would not mind adding to my closet. An offshoot of the poncho trend is the cape. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I have a cape wool coat that I'll be rocking once the weather allows.

Side note: Have any of you downloaded the Kardashian apps? I am a big fan of the fashion round-ups on the Kylie app. She often profiles a look she wore, then posts much cheaper alternatives... it's a "look for less" but honestly, includes several different price points. That's kind of the same idea with these "Lust List" posts... so let me know if you want me to keep doing these for the season's trends!

Oahu Travel Guide

1. Check out Leonard's.

They serve a pastry called 'Malasadas'. They are Portuguese donuts and are life changing. They are warm, fluffy, and filled with piping hot Hawaiian flavors. Choose from coconut, lilikoi, and sweet & spicy. They are super cheat (around a dollar), and they also sell cupcakes and coffee. It is unlike anything I have ever tried, and really wish I could get something similar in the Bay!

2. Go to a lookout point

I've outlined the Pali lookout, Diamond head, and the blowhole, and I highly suggest you get some nature in. I feel like I would be so unproductive if I lived there because I would never get anything done! I'd be staring out the window all day.

3. Peak into the resorts.

Even if you aren't staying there, grab a drink at their bar and browse the shops. The Moana Surfrider, the Royal Hawaiian, the Sheraton, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village are all beautiful and on the beach.

4. Hit up the Cookie Corner

The main reason I visit Oahu. The end.

Other recommendations: Eat at Side Street Inn for the BEST fried chicken of your life, catch a sunset on your lanai (and even enjoy a takeout meal there), go to the Ala Moana Mall- the largest outdoor mall in the world, and get shaved ice on the North Shore.
