Camels AND Leopards

This next outfit sounds like a fashion safari! I paired a camel colored cowlneck sweater with leopard print peeptoe pumps. It was a fun way to mix things up and add some pizzazz to a winter date night look.  I also love to wear this sweater with a pair of leggings and either my leopard print flats or some riding boots-- the possibilities are endless. Christmas is coming up soon, what will you guys be buying for loved ones? Let me know in the comments section!

Pattern Play

Hello all! Thanks for your continued support of this little 'ol blog of mine. I wanted to mix it up a bit today... literally. Two of my favorite winter patterns happen to be buffalo plaid and herringbone. Generally, I'd pair those patterns with very low key colors (predominantly neutrals), but today I'm making a splash with BOTH patterns together! These are pieces I've owned for quite some time, and I was ecstatic to create a new look with them. I'm wearing about 4 layers under this outfit because the temperatures are really starting to drop in the Bay Area! I also took some close-ups of the accessories. Sometimes, the devil's in the details :) I like crystal baubles and they add instant glam to even the most basic outfits!

Wet Weather Wardrobe

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day? Nah, you can stay awhile :) The few times it does end up raining (and I'm actually in it instead of at work), I reach for this outfit. This striped top is supremely comfortable and in style.  Rocking black leggings/yoga pants are in my style repertoire, and my friends helped me find the perfect green utility jacket.  You all know how much I love mixing stripes and leopard print..and what a better way to do this than by incorporating fashion forward thinking with my umbrella!

Anyway, Christmas is around the corner. What are you guys planning on buying loved ones? Gift guide from yours truly coming soon. PS- my mom wants a burgundy peacoat from me. If any of you see a good one, let me know!

Leopard & Leather

Hello all! I wanted to share with you all my approach to street style. Just a jean, tee, jacket, and a pair of boots is a perfectly effortless but stylish way to roam around the city. Instead of a basic black jacket, I added a pop of color with this burgundy jacket. It's bomber style, and provides plenty of warmth. My trusty white tee and favorite jeans are the base of the look. My leopard infinity scarf adds an extra pop.

I'm so grateful you all follow along and keep up with my blog! It means the world to me. Please feel free to leave more comments, and spread the word about my blog! You can always connect with me on social media, too. Twitter: @_ericakato and Instagram: @the_fashionforecast

White After Labor Day

Hey there, lovelies! Weather has been a bit unsettled lately. I'm not complaining. I've been practically begging for cooler temperatures and a little rain! The air seems a lot fresher (crisp even!) around the Bay, and we desperately needed the change. Doesn't mean, however, that I need to give up all the clothes I rocked with warmer temps! I'm a big proponent of wearing white after labor day. It's chic and a neutral. Winter whites are particularly classy and festive as we go into December. Rain cleared up while I took these shots. You may remember these white jeans featured heavily during the summer months! Even the chambray shirt. Paired those items with a vest and some riding boots- and I'm (California) Winter ready!!

Powderpuff Pink

When I first saw this vest at Old Navy, I had to have it! Let me take a moment to shout-out Old Navy's outerwear. Many of my peacoats, vests, and sweaters year after year are from there. Quality pieces for about $30. Fall/Winter is definitely the time to check out their key pieces! I've had my ON coats for years, and plan to take this vest skiing with me. See what other pieces I paired this neon pink statement vest with below!

Gift Guide: Your BFF

BFFI don't know about ya'll, but holiday shopping always has me hitting the panic button. Some people in my life are VERY hard to buy for, and its really difficult to shop for folks who can buy whatever they want whenever they want it. It's always such a joy to gift them with something they maybe didn't know they needed, or a quirky item that will put a smile on their face. Hope you all enjoy my Gift Guide series.. I'll be featuring some of the hardest loved ones to shop for... best friends, parents, and significant others. Some of my best friends are really girly like me, and enjoy glitter, pink, and anything that makes a statement. When shopping for the BEST friend, it's ok to splurge a little on accessories for them, but all of these featured items are still manageable in terms of pricing. Look below for links to shop!

Festive in Forest

Hope everyone is having a lovely Fall! I'm having a blast introducing new elements into my wardrobe, getting cozy, and sipping on festive flavored drinks. Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for. Sometimes a very loose poncho makes an outfit instantly comfortable. I've never owned one, sometimes they aren't the most flattering, but they are certainly an extra layer of warmth. Everything else is basically a Fall staple piece.. I've got a long sleeve shirt, jeans, and boots. CHECK. CHECK. CHECK. Adding a poncho makes the look stand out, don't you think?

Baroque It Out

Well, even though we're in the middle of November, it's still pretty toasty here in the Bay. Therefore, we're not heavily bundled up... but I still like Fall fashion. I paired a baroque crop top with my tried & true leather laser cut skirt. Since the evenings are pretty warm still (atleast for this time of year), this was the perfect combination. All gold accessories rounded everything out.

What to Wear: Thanksgiving Dinner

Tgivs
Hello, lovelies!  We're moving in closer to the Thanksgiving holiday, and I wanted to share some of the looks I've been mulling over. It's important to wear an outfit that comfortable and cozy. You'll be doing a heck of a lot of eating, afterall! Thanksgiving is also a time when we reconnect with family and loved ones we haven't seen in awhile, so of course it's great to look nice and somewhat polished.

The first look is a very in-season poncho (will cover up and food baby you may or may not gain during the dinner), stretchy jeans, and a stylist pair of riding boots perfect for cold weather/rain etc. The second outfit adds a pop of color, and the flyaway cardigan is flattering on all body types. The third outfit is currently in 1st place for me-- I think I'm going to wear a buffalo plaid shirt but jazz it up with a faux leather A-line skirt. I will keep you all posted on what I end up wearing! Hope you have the best Thanksgiving holiday EVER!
