Skull Sister

Happy Halloween, everyone! Halloween has recently become one of my favorite holidays. The decor, the movies, the mischief. I crave it all. Growing up, I've always kind of had a fascination with haunted houses and the paranormal. While I'd typically rock black & orange on October 31st (or a costume), I decided to go a different route this year. I added this skull scarf to an everyday outfit for the perfect subtle spook factor. Trick-or-treat?

You Asked For It!

I hope you guys are enjoying the larger picture sizes/better quality. Let me let you in on a little secret. It was much easier to just snap away on my phone and upload the fashion photos to the Blogger app, and using a real camera is a lot more work. There are a few more steps involved, but overall I think it is worth it, and will take my blog to the next level. Also, I am inherently lazy when it comes to these things and I honestly do most of my shoots after the gym, so my curls have fallen out, and I'm not wearing much, if any, make-up. The fuzzy quality and small size of the iPhone pictures were my friend! HA. So forgive me if I look tired in these better quality photos.

Alas, here is a fur vest I was dying to get. This one has pockets, which always gets bonus points in my book. I've had fun trying it with different outfits. Can't wait for even cooler weather.

Sunshine & A Scarf

I want to preface this post by saying this is what I wore to Home Depot, LOL.

Today, there was lots of sunshine in the Bay Area (even at my house, which is rare). Though a cooler airmass left a bit of a chill outside. I want to say this outfit screams DECEMBER, but because it doesn't provide tons of warmth, I debuted it on a dry but slightly cooler October day. This blanket Zara scarf is EVERYTHING. It seriously doubles as a blanket, and it is perfect for the holidays. The top is a red thermal, and my skirt is laser cut leather. These little booties I'm wearing go with everything, but I'm still breaking them in.

Hint: My beautiful plaid scarf is from last season and is SOLD OUT, but you can get a similar look (smaller width-wise) from your local Target.. so check in stores! Free shipping right now through the holidays, no minimum :)

Green With Envy

Hey all! Alright, here comes the change in the weather pattern.. hence, Fall clothes are officially here! As you can tell from previous posts, I'm mad about plaid! I paired this green/navy fitted plaid shirt with dark skinny jeans. I picked up these gorgeous booties from Target... they fit perfectly and happen to match my skintone. Seriously check out the Sam & Libby shoe collection there. The quality is remarkable, as its the same brand as Sam Edelman. Sam Edelman is perhaps one of my favorite shoe designers found in Nordstrom, Barney's, etc. but he came out with a more accessible line via Target. You'll also notice I'm rocking different shades lately. These were also courtesy of a Target run! Mirrored aviators for the win!

Throwback Plaid

This look is very 90s, in my opinion. The oversized plaid. The denim cutoffs. The boots. I think I made the look a little more feminine than what the style was 15 years ago. What's great about plaid flannels is that it is a layer! During cooler mornings, I have my arms covered, but by time the sun comes out, the flannel gets tied around my waist. The true star of this outfit is the OTK (over the knee) boots. They are long & lean, and have a great heel to them. It is a sophisticated yet edgy look. Prepare to see a LOT of these boots in future posts! Shop my look below.

World Series Attitude

GO GIANTS! It's an even-year, so you all know what that means. For the most part, you won't find me in a "We Own The Pennant" t-shirt or a Posey jersey. I root for my team in more subtle ways. For this look, I paired a black/white striped dress with an orange scarf. People will automatically know who I'm rooting for, but this look has a unique twist and isn't as casual. Hence, it can be worn outside of the ballpark.

Diamonds & Pearls

Here is a look in my Wear To Work series! A lot of you gave positive feedback on this dress I wore to work not too long ago, so I'm going to give you the 411 on this look. I love the indricate lace detail, especially near the sleeves. There is a small cut-out section on the back, and photos of this dress simply don't do it justice! I'm going to pair it with black tights once the temperature drops, giving it a real holiday look! This dress can easily be used as a Christmas party dress, too. It is one of my favorite purchases of the past few months! I accessorized with diamond/crystal jewelry and pearl studs to give it a feminine and classy finish. And the shoes? Valentino rockstuds. They are very edgy statement shoes, but I figured why not :)

Get Like Me: Fall Essentials

Fall You Need
The following looks are FALL YOU NEED to get ready for cold and rainy weather around the Bay. I had a meeting with the local office of the National Weather Service this week, and we discussed the upcoming El Nino year forecasted. Now just because we're talking about conditions that typically favor a wet pattern for us, doesn't mean we're going to get it. Even if we do see an El Nino year, it will be a weak El Nino at best. Anyway, it's always nice to prepare for cold weather/rain regardless. I guarantee you will see a lot of me in plaid flannels, jeans/leggings, riding boots, and vests for the next few months. Above are some of my top picks and looks very similar to what is in my wardrobe.

Plaid About You

Yes! Bring on the plaid! After years attending Catholic school, I must say it was hard for me to jump back on the plaid bandwagon. Although you won't see me rocking a whole lot of plaid skirts, I just cannot get enough of plaid flannels! They are soft, warm, perfect for layering, and casual. I usually wear my flannels with jeans, riding boots, and a vest, but this time I took a completely different approach! Still A-OK for relatively warm Bay Area weather :) Peep my OTK (over the knee) boots I picked up from Nordstrom. They are suede, have a strong heel, and are my current obsession!

On The Run

Out and about enjoying the sunshine! The heat is finally backing off a bit, so you all will notice my fashion transitioning to a Fall look over the next few weeks! I wore this outft to get my last bit of white in before we really get into into the rainy season. I think this shirt is pretty comfortable- something I'd wear to the airport. It is versatile, and you'll probably see it featured in a few more upcoming posts.

Something About Maroon

Wow, this sweater is truly a fave!! A purchase from NastyGal, I thought the price was a little steep, but overall I think it was worth the buy. The color is rich, the texture is unique, and the length is long! I ended up tucking in the tank to get a snack. A 70 degree afternoon high called for shorts. I also used this as an opportunity to experiment with my new booties!
