Red Bottoms

Hey all! Wanted to share a look I put together that can be worn pretty much ANYWHERE this summer. The pier...a baseball game... a picnic. These red shorts are from J. Crew are wear like a dream. They do run big so size down (one, maybe two sizes). They also come in a variety of colors and are frequently on-sale so check J. Crew. A Chambray shirt is a summer staple, and I am a firm believe that you can never have too many! They are lightweight and perfect for layering. Also- chambray is a neutral! Pair it with anything in your closet.

The Technicolor Dream Skirt #FFTravels

I've been shopping at H&M a LOT more lately. Not only do they have great work wear (I swear, about 80% of my professional wardrobe is from there, and it was all I could afford when I was first starting out), but great party dresses and summer looks. The clothes really do look and feel more expensive than what they are. My only issue is the sizing. I'm literally 4 sizes bigger in H&M clothing because it's just cut differently, I guess? Lots of trial and error in the dressing room, but when it works..it WORKS! I'm also so glad that you can now return online purchases in-store just in-case something doesn't work out! Much needed relief for a girl who is constantly worried about H&M sizing!

Oh, and these pics were taken at The Lodge @ Pebble Beach. 17 Mile Drive is an absolute must if you like beachy scenery. The Lodge is absolutely stunning and a perfect place to relax not too far from the Bay Area! Score!

Off the Shoulder

Good morning, everyone! I know, I know. Long time, no post. I wanted to share some snaps from a three-day weekend. Before heading down to Monterey for some local sun & sea, I stopped by the Gilroy Outlets to pick up a few things :) The weather is always SO warm down there- totally fine in shorts and sandals at 10am! Do you guys have any good outlet stores to recommend? I love a good bargain!

Lovely Lace

Yes, Yes, I know. I haven't done an outfit post in AGES! I just wanted to throw up this lace number I wore for a night on the town! It's been so long since I've been able to dress up and actually take time with hair and make-up so it felt great to get a little GLAM!

I ended up at a little neighborhood Italian restaurant where I had the best salad of my life! Honestly, it was in the top 5 meals ever for me. I've been to this restaurant nearly a dozen times.. and I can't believe I had overlooked that gem of a salad. The weather was great- didn't even need a jacket or sweater!

Keep Tahoe Blue

Not too long ago, my friends from college and I decided to take a girls-only trip to Tahoe! It was absolutely gorgeous. Can you believe that these pictures were taken without any filters or editing tweaks?! This is Tahoe in all of its natural glory. While it was cold up there, we did do a little hike and later ended up at the casinos near stateline. I love the cute little restaurants and shops... and can't forget the deals at the North Face and Patagonia stores!

Review: Amla Powder

Hey everyone! It's been awhile, but I wanted to take some time to share with you an AMAZING discovery. I love trying out new products, but I'm usually disappointed and unsatisfied with their claims. I actually think that my body is just resistant to new products, and nothing can change the condition of my hair/skin/nails/weight like it claims.

That all changed today when on a whim, I tried Amla Powder. Also known as dried and powdered Indian Gooseberry, its been used for thousands of years for hair and skin benefits. Many folks use it to strengthen their hair, add shine, or volume. I used it specifically after reading that it eliminates dandruff. I've been cursed with dry flakes since forever (just found out I was born w/ cradle cap... thanks mom!), and its been with me ever since. I originally read that Amla Powder nixes the flakes almost instantly-- unlike dandruff shampoos and other remedies such as apple cider vinegar.

Here's what I did: made a paste/hair mask with equal parts water and Amla Powder. After my normal shampoo and conditioner use, I applied the mask, focusing mainly on the scalp. You may yield better results if you properly part your hair and REALLY get at the scalp... but I rushed through it since I didn't even believe its magical claims. After 10-15 minutes, I rinsed my hair, let it air dry. After combing through, I couldn't find any flakes! This is the FIRST time I got instant results from a product and it did exactly what it claimed! I will keep you all posted on if it continues to work...or if it loses its effectiveness. So far so good! You can pick up Amla Powder at any Indian grocery store or from Amazon!

All Black, All Day

It's either been a) cold or b) rainy... or actually, most of the time, both. It's rare that I get to wear a dress in the Bay without tights... but I did sneak one day in! This dress is super comfy, and it was perfect to head out in and grab a bowl of ramen. These boots hardly make an appearance anymore because of the rain! I am constantly checking the forecast before I head out in weather that could possibly damage my clothes/shoes! Spring couldn't come sooner.
