Hwy 1 Hotspots #FFTravels

Monterey is definitely something you can cover in a weekend... and that includes stopping by Carmel, and driving the glorious Hwy 1 all the way down to Big Sur. Here's my list of the must-see things to do and see in a weekend spent on the Central Coast! All the Hwy 1 spots you have to see on your road trip.
1. Lover's Point
Check this out after exploring Cannery Row. It's a beautiful beach with plenty of benches and rocks to climb. I cannot stress how pretty this place is during sunset! If you're very active, many locals run along a train passing by- making your run a lot easier and simply gorgeous at the same time.
2. McWay Falls
You've probably seen photos of this on instagram. A beautiful look-out point about 40 minutes from Monterey down Hwy 1 South. Park your car, snap some pics, and learn some history! This little waterfall is something you won't want to miss. Go around sunset for the selfies... but keep in mind traffic WILL be bad on the way back.
3. Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park
Plenty of hiking trails! Be prepared to feel small on this east hike through the redwood trees. Get lost in nature- this hike is great for all ages. It reminded me of Muir Woods back in the North Bay (Bay Area).
4. Bixby Creek Bridge
You will cross atleast a few bridges on your ride down Hwy 1, but none worth photographing...except this one! Stunning architecture, and it makes the perfect backdrop for family pics. If you do a little hiking, you can get a great shot of you, the ocean, the cliffs, and the bridge. This spot is about 10 miles from Carmel, so it isn't too far from all the action.
5. Nepenthe
This restaurant is glamorous, big. and you can't miss it as you drive down the coast between the Bixby Bridge and McWay Falls. It is expensive, but the view is unlike any other. Perhaps you can stop by for a drink a cheese plate! Treat yo self.
