Pink Plumeria #FFTravels

This was the first time I visited Oahu where, for the most part, I didn't get sucked into the tourist traps. It was a good mix of visiting local spots and enjoying the scenery. No luaus or submarine rides this time around! 

Here are my top picks for Oahu's lookout points:

Diamond Head: Alright, hands down the best view of the entire island, but it is quite the hike. It's hot and humid and you will be climbing dozens of stairs. Plus, you're walking up to the top in a single file line, so it's not your typical leisurely hike in nature. The view, however, is SO WORTH IT!

Pali Lookout: An unobstructed view of Oahu's east shore, east shore, including the towns of Kailua and Kaneohe and the green peaks of the Ko’olau Mountains. It is literally the most windy place I have ever been, so if you can handle that, then check it out. You will have to pay for parking, and it's a decent drive from the resort areas. 

Makapu'u Lookout: Gorgeous ocean views. So pretty if you love the sea. It reminded me of photos I've seen of Big Sur, and even some Ocean Beach SF lookout points, but on a grander scale. Very easy to drive to, so check it out if Hanauma Bay is too crowded and the lot is full (which it will be).

Halona Blowhole: You don't have to spend a lot of time here, but there is a pretty cool blowhole in the middle of the lookout point, and it's something fun to record. This isn't a must-see in my book, but its not far from Makapu'u so you can easily do both.
